The BS 3.3 bioscaffolder from GeSIM enables the processing of various materials for bioscaffolding and printable electronics. Its high degree of modularity facilitates research in diverse fields, from the development of microfluidic systems, soft electronic devices, to tissue engineering. The BS 3.3 can control up to four printheads, which can be pneumatically operated or drop-on-demand.

  • Make your personal folder within "UserData" on the desktop. Save all your personal files (configs, scaffolds, stl/3mf designs) in your own folder. Otherwise they will be deleted.
  • Standard tools configuration: [Axis 1] Z sensor; [Axis 3] 3 mL dispenser + UV-pen; [Axis 5] 10 mL dispenser + Camera; [Axis 7] 10 mL dispenser with internal heater. If you want change this setup please inform the tool responsible.
  • Standard config file: "LOE_default" is the standard config setting that corresponds to the standard tools configuration above. Please never change "LOE_default" and save your own config files using "save as", into your personal folder.
  • When using the printer, make sure you follow the safety regulations (don't touch the machine while it's running, etc.) and the operational protocols provided during the training. The manual is on the table for your reference.
  • After using the printer, remove your own syringes from the axes and keep them in your own storage. Don't leave any syringes, inks, consumables on the printer or on the table. Install the adaptor (circular metal holder) back to the axes. Park the printer, quit the software, shut down the machine (press the on/off button), and shut down the pc. Clean the workplate with IPA should there be any contaminations.
  • If the stainless-steel syringe is used, clean it thoroughly by sonicating the syringe and nozzle in a good solvent for your ink over a sufficiently long period. After that, install the steel syringe together with the adaptor back onto the axis.
